Project to Reinvent Coal
The environmental challenges associated with burning coal are well-known. Today, only about 1/3 of the potential energy is recovered when coal is burned. Imagine there was a better way to use coal today. Well, there is!
- The Supply
Coal is our most abundant resource here in the United States. Currently, the US has a 275 billion ton supply of coal reserves within its borders. - The Challenge
If all you do is burn coal, you use only about 1/3 of its energy content. The remaining 2/3 go unused, and are lost forever. - The Solution
CETA’s process converts coal into its natural component parts in an environmentally friendly way that is very economical and uses little, if any water in the process.
Sulfur Reductions and alternate commercial uses
CETA is currently involved with other companies, universities, and well known scientists to continue to improve the quality, economic and environmental performance of coal as a fuel and product source.
Biomass
CETA is working with a major university in the U.S. to develop and potentially integrate Biomass into CETA’s end products.
Capture, Sequestration and Other Commercialization Technologies
CETA is doing research to develop commercial and environmentally friendly uses for CO2.
